Our office is equipped to aid you if you experience severe dental anxiety. We regularly offer anxiolysis in the form of Ativan and nitrous oxide to optimize your dental visit. In some cases, we may involve your primary care physician if different medications are needed. For these appointments, we welcome guests in the treatment area, as long as guests do not interfere with the sedation or treatment being rendered.
In addition to anxiolysis and nitrous oxide administration, Dr. Ike House and Dr. Brittany House are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and have certifications to allow a Nurse Anesthetist come into the office and provide IV sedation - a deeper sedation option. This is a great option for patients with extreme anxiety, special needs patients, and patients that cannot tolerate dental procedures with lesser sedation options. During sedation appointments with the nurse anesthetist, our doctor and assistant are monitoring and evaluating the patient for breathing and responsiveness. It is critical that the doctor is able to accurately monitor the patient closely during these appointments, and for this reason we do not allow guests in the treatment area during sedation appointments. |
